MIDO Is Postponed…Again
As Italy and the rest of the world has grappled with the COVID-19 Health Crisis, MIDO, the largest optical show in the world found itself having to postpone the 50th Anniversary celebration due to start on Leap Day, February 29th, 2020 until the first weekend in July when it was felt that things might clear up by summer.
With Italy having been hit spectacularly hard, it seemed a very ambitious goal to proceed with the show at the height of what would have typically been tourist season, July 5-7, 2020. Today, the board of MIDO has announced that they have made the difficult decision to put off the 50th Anniversary show until 2021. The new date are considerably earlier than MIDO has ever done, running now from Saturday, February 6th through Monday, February 8th.
It is hoped the novel coronavirus will have either run its course or perhaps a vaccine will be widely available by the end of the year making public gatherings such as MIDO safe and one of the most effective ways to immerse one’s self into everything new our industry has to offer.
We hope to see you there.
