Younger Optics Releases Transitions Signature® Gen 8™ Polycarbonate Composite Multifocal Lenses
Younger Optics Releases Transitions Signature® Gen 8™ Polycarbonate Composite Multifocal Lenses in Gray Torrance, Calif., August 2020 – Now more flat-top lens wearers can enjoy the unsurpassed photochromic performance of Transitions Signature® Gen8™ lenses. Developed jointly by Transitions Optical and Younger Optics, Transitions Signature® Gen8™ polycarbonate composite lenses are now available in gray for FT28 bifocal, FT35 bifocal and 7 x 28 trifocal lenses.
Transitions Signature® Gen8™ is the leading photochromic brand in the industry, preferred by many for its excellent performance and color aesthetics. Transitions Signature® Gen8™ has been shown to offer darker activation and faster fadeback compared to its predecessor, Transitions Signature VII™. With this product expansion, eye care professionals may significantly heighten the satisfaction of patients who wear polycarbonate multifocals. Eight out of 10 patients prefer Transitions Signature lenses to clear lenses, and now eyecare professionals don’t have to find another option when these bifocal and trifocal wearers request the latest Transitions brand lens. They can dispense authentic Transitions Signature® Gen8™ gray lenses in a polycarbonate composite material.
Approximately one in five pairs of lenses sold today are segmented multifocals, and a majority of those are bifocals. “Some patients will always require a multifocal lens, whether due to a medical reason or an inability to adapt,” said John Schubach, global director of lenscaster sales at Transitions Optical.
