MPR and MacuLogix® Received A’Design Award
MPR and MacuLogix® were recognized with the A’Design Platinum Award, the world’s largest design competition, for its work on the AdaptDx Pro™, a medical headset by MacuLogix, Inc. Launched earlier this year, the device builds upon its predecessor the AdaptDx® to enable eye care professionals to effectively diagnose patients with age-related macular degeneration (AMD) by measuring their dark adaptation.
Evaluated by an internationally influential panel comprised of scholars, press, creative design professionals, and experienced entrepreneurs, the A’Design Awards were established to create awareness of design practices and principles. The ultimate goal of the competition is to build strong incentives for designers, companies, and brands from around the world to define better products, services, and systems that benefit mankind. The Platinum A’ Design Award is a prestigious award given to the top one percent of submissions exhibiting an exemplary level of design originality.
“MPR’s team of engineers worked collaboratively with MacuLogix to design and develop the AdaptDx Pro within 16 months,” Eric Claude, MPR Vice President, Product Development said. “We leveraged the synergies and strengths of MPR and MacuLogix and are proud to have helped develop the next generation of AMD dark adaptation testing. Being recognized with the A’Design Award further highlights the uniqueness of the AdaptDx Pro.”
The AdaptDx Pro guided by Theia™ breaks through ophthalmic medical device industry barriers by offering a completely new experience for patients and eye care professionals in the fight against AMD. “Our goal was to maximize patient comfort while reducing the burden on the technician,” Gregory R, Jackson, Ph.D., MacuLogix Co-Founder & Chief Technology Officer said. “By pairing custom-designed hardware and optics with an artificial intelligence-driven technician named Theia, we achieved a reliable, consistent testing experience using automated instructions and adaptive feedback.”
The simple, non-invasive test is available for use nationwide. The test is complete within ten minutes and followed by consultation with a physician.
“Rigorous application of our proven design and development processes consistently enables MPR to deliver effective and innovative solutions,” MPR Principal Officer, Bob Coward said. “Our work on the AdaptDx Pro illustrates first-hand how MPR influences the success of our clients.”
